We were blessed to hear from 3 wonderful speakers last Sunday about kindness, lifting other's burdens and true discipleship, all of which direct us to one thing "VISITING TEACHING"(Home Teaching).
We've been inspired and uplifted with good reminders about Visiting Teaching this past few Sundays, from real life experience to stories about how animals have their own way and behavior to protect their pack. Should it be enough motivation for us to continue magnifying our duties or should you allow me to write a brief recap, perhaps my own favorite, of last sunday's talks?
Many times in our lives-we are blessed to either have the opportunity to express kindness through words or deeds. Kind words open doors for friendship, it even invites the spirit of love and trust. When kind words are not enough, we do more through our actions, we run extra mile just to extend our sincerest intentions. As the Primary song goes "Kindness begins with me.." grab the opportunity to sincerely say a word or two to express your kind thought or just a simple smile but with the sincerest intent.
What i like most is what the Elder(Missionary) stated about lifting and lightening the burdens, that the Lord lightens our own burden as we help others carry their own load of care. No one is free of care or burden and if we will only trust the words of our Prophet regarding this wonderful promise then we would gain strength and testimony of how Visiting Teaching is actually a blessing instead of a responsibility.
Finally, Brother Jensen inspire us with his talk about discipleship and discipline. I love what he says about "the effort to be righteous and effort to be disciplined"....when we labor diligently to obey God then His grace is sufficient for us to be saved(2Nephi 25:23).
I love Visiting Teaching.
